Founded by Tony Pike on July 4, 1980, Pikes has become an icon of Ibiza’s nightlife and cultural history. Over four decades of passion, dedication, and the pursuit of pleasure have shaped the Pikes Ibiza history, one that continues to captivate visitors from around the world.
Discovered by Tony in 1978, this 500-year-old finca was lovingly restored and transformed into something extraordinary in just two years.
Considered the first ‘boutique’ hotel on the island (and possibly in the world), Pikes quickly became an escape for the world’s biggest stars of the 80s and 90s. Pop stars, actors, musicians, DJs, and even royalty flocked to Pikes, drawn by its hedonistic spirit, carefree charm, and the presence of Tony Pike himself.
The tales of Freddie Mercury’s 41st birthday and Wham!’s iconic ‘Club Tropicana’ video shoot only added to the legend. Tony always made sure his non-famous guests felt the same warmth and hospitality as his A-list clientele.
After Tony passed away in February 2019, we can no longer hear him retell his stories as the ultimate host, but thankfully, some of his legendary tales live on in print.
